Karli Wells is a senior in the Horizon Academic Magnet at Richland Northeast High School.  There she is a member of National Honor Society, the Palmetto Center of the Arts theatre program, H.O.P.E.  365 community service organization, and Model United Nations.  Karli is currently serving as editorial page editor for The Cavalier, vice-president of the S.E.A.R.C.H. Club, and historian for student senate. This year, Karli was awarded the Free Spirit Journalism Award for South Carolina and was identified as a National Achievement semi-finalist. In her free time, Karli enjoys reading, writing, and listening to music.

Karli got involved with service learning several years ago after applying to be a member of the Richland Two Youth Action Council (YAC). She currently is serving as a district co-chair for this organization.  As a YAC member and youth trainer for the Institute for Global Education and Service Learning, Karli has had the opportunity to facilitate at numerous events and conferences. Karli will serve as a keynote speaker at the 23rd Annual National Service-Learning Conference and youthrive PeaceJam Leadership Conference.  As the daughter of two educators, she knows firsthand the value of quality education. Her motto is to “do as much as you can, for as many as you can, as often as you can.”
